Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK, has joined GMLPN.

Since 2017, MFT has been responsible for running a family of ten hospitals across six separate sites, providing a wide range of services from comprehensive local general hospital care through to highly specialised regional and national services.

The Trust is the main provider of hospital care to approximately 750,000 people in Manchester and Trafford and the single biggest provider of specialised services in the North West of England, employing and training over 28,000 staff.

MFT also provides services and support for the education, training and professional development of medical/non-medical clinical staff and students to help achieve their maximum potential in delivering high quality healthcare and current good practice.

Chloe Forest, Partnership Manager at GMLPN said:

“We are very pleased to have MFT join the Network. Their commitment to high-quality education and training aligns seamlessly with our mission to support and develop the local workforce.

“By joining GMLPN, MFT strengthens our goal of delivering impactful, learner-centred education across Greater Manchester. Together, we can continue to promote best practices, share expertise, and create more opportunities for learners and employers alike. We look forward to collaborating and supporting each other in raising standards and widening participation across the region.”

Paula Alexander, Apprenticeship Service Manager at MFT, said:

“At MFT, we are proud of our skilled workforce and the range of learning opportunities we have to offer. Almost 500 colleagues across our organisation are currently completing an apprenticeship to enhance their professional development and a strong learning provider is key to the success of the programme. We’re looking forward to expanding this through our partnership with GMLPN”.
