GMLPN partnered with Still Human to equip members with the knowledge to support menopause-related wellbeing.

In a continued effort to promote wellbeing and inclusivity, GMLPN offered its members three, one-hour interactive workshops, delivered by Still Human, focused on menopause awareness. Mindfulness and becoming Menopause Ambassadors. Understanding and supporting the mental health of those around us is essential in creating a respectful and supportive working environment, and this initiative is a step toward greater awareness and empathy in the workplace.

At GMLPN, we care deeply about mental health in the workplace, which is why we regularly share #WellnessWednesday content on our social media channels to encourage ongoing awareness and conversation. This latest initiative is another step toward building a more informed and empathetic professional community.

In these workshops, Still Human covered the stages, symptoms, and management of menopause. We wanted to create a supportive environment where women felt comfortable coming together to reduce the stigma around menopause. It normalises workplace discussions, educates younger women, helps colleagues understand and support each other, and guides managers and senior leaders in fostering an inclusive workplace.

We trained 16 menopause Ambassadors across the network, including members of the GMLPN team, member organisations included:

  • Acorn Training
  • Bright Direction Training
  • Cidori
  • DH Associates
  • Get Set Academy
  • Groundwork
  • NLTG
  • Pareto
  • Race Ahead
  • Rochdale Training
  • Salford City College
  • TMP College
  • Total People
  • Trafford & Stockport College Group

Charlotte Jones, Operations Manager at GMLPN, said: “At GMLPN, we’re committed to supporting our members to create inclusive and supportive working environments and it’s been great to partner with Still Human on this initiative. We’re pleased to have Menopause Ambassadors in place who are using their knowledge and experience to support colleagues within their own organisations and across the wider network.”
