I am an Educator who has dedicated their career to supporting youths and young adults. I started my career in education in 2001, and I look forward to my continued growth in this field.

I am a passionate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Educator, and I am confident that my academic and professional achievements will benefit my clients

As an example, I have worked in a variety of roles, including Child and Youth Care Worker, High School Teacher, and Deputy Head Teacher. In all three roles, I promoted the importance of resilience, achievement, and inclusion.

My recent educational accomplishments include completion of a master’s degree in Equity, Diversity and Social Justice Studies at the Faculty of Education.  My research focused on systemic barriers and disparity gaps between socioeconomic groups. With that said, research in this field enhanced my ability to cultivate a climate of collaboration, engagement  and inspired learning.

For instance, I developed curriculum that reflected student diversity in the classroom, and this improved student retention and achievement.

In addition to my postgraduate degree, I completed my Bachelor of Honours in History and Bachelor of Education in 2008.

I am also pleased to share with you that I completed my specialist in History in 2015 and received Qualified Teacher Status in 2019. These accomplishments demonstrate my passion for research and professional growth.

In addition, I completed courses in Adult Education and Academic Advising. As part of my training, I gained a broader understanding of the socioemotional challenges that affected high school and young adults in postsecondary education and in turn developed key strategies in improving student retention.

As an extension to the above professional development training, I investigated barriers to post-secondary enrolment.  For instance, my postgraduate research focused on inequity issues in education and the underrepresentation of marginalized communities in college enrolment.

These achievements not only demonstrate my ability to write and conduct research, design curriculum, but most importantly, present learning in an engaging and inclusive manner.

I am confident that I can help students achieve student success. To elaborate, you can depend on me to implement appropriate assessment methodologies, as well as rely on newly released research in my field. As an example, I was the first in my department to introduce the importance of first-hand knowledge keepers. For instance, as part of a unit of study, I arranged for Holocaust survivors to share their experiences with staff and students.
