Body: Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network (GMLPN) is pleased to welcome CodeYourFuture as a new Community Member, further strengthening the network’s commitment to inclusive skills development and widening access to opportunity. CodeYourFuture is a UK-based non-profit organisation delivering free coding and digital skills training to refugees, asylum seekers and individuals from low-income or disadvantaged backgrounds.
Founded in 2016, the organisation provides career-focused software development training, alongside employability support, mentoring and personal development, helping individuals progress into meaningful careers in the technology sector.
By removing barriers to participation, including offering flexible learning, financial support and access to equipment, CodeYourFuture enables its learners to build the skills, confidence and experience needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital economy.
As a Community Member of GMLPN, CodeYourFuture will contribute valuable insight into digital inclusion, social mobility and skills development, supporting the network’s wider aim of creating a more responsive and inclusive skills system across Greater Manchester.
Welcoming CodeYourFuture to the network, Chloe Forrest, Partnership Manager at GMLPN said:
“We are delighted to welcome CodeYourFuture to GMLPN. Their commitment to removing barriers and creating pathways into digital careers is particularly important as we look to ensure the skills system works for everyone, especially those facing the greatest challenges.”
Alec McCrindle from CYF explains:
“While we’re seeing growth in tech roles again, getting a job in tech is harder now – demonstrating technical skills alone isn’t enough. Employers want people who are curious, who can explain their ideas, and who can adapt as AI reshapes the market. That’s what CYF trains people for: technical skills, plus the proof, critical thinking and confidence to go with them. We help people learn how to learn.”
All CodeYourFuture courses are free. To take part, applicants need to be over 18, on a low income, have intermediate English, and have access to a computer for the first course.
