Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS), one of the largest fire and rescue services in England, has joined (GMLPN).

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is one of the largest fire and rescue services in England, covering an area of 493 square miles and serving a population of 2.87 million residents, along with many others who work in or visit the region.

Their community programmes are designed for children and young people, combining classroom-based learning with practical, hands-on activities in the drill yard. These initiatives focus on developing essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, risk awareness, following instructions, and understanding the impact of actions. The experience is both engaging and challenging, offering participants the chance to gain recognised qualifications and build valuable skills that can enhance their future employment prospects.

In partnership with the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), GMFRS also offers a two-year Firefighter Apprenticeship. This programme provides apprentices with the training, knowledge, and experience needed to begin a rewarding career with GMFRS. It also opens the door to a wide range of progression opportunities, from Crew Manager and Watch Manager roles to specialist positions such as Drone Operator or Fire Safety Officer.

GMFRS are committed to helping individuals grow, achieve their potential, and make a real difference in their communities.
