GMLPN is proud to announce that it has signed the Get the Nation Learning Charter, joining a growing movement of organisations across the country committed to promoting lifelong learning and opening up opportunities for people of all ages.

The Get the Nation Learning Charter is part of the national Get the Nation Learning initiative, led by the Learning and Work Institute. The charter sets out three clear commitments:

  1. We recognise the many benefits of lifelong learning for people, society and the economy
  2. We commit to building a future where everyone can learn throughout life
  3. We will lead by example to Get the Nation Learning – setting goals, measuring progress, sharing success and guiding others

By signing the charter, GMLPN has pledged to champion these principles across Greater Manchester, ensuring that learners, employers, and providers have the support and opportunities they need to succeed.

This year’s Get the Nation Learning Week will run over 3–7 November 2025 with a range of activity including the Get the Nation Learning Awards. This dedicated week will celebrate learning across the country through events, case studies, and campaigns that showcase the impact of lifelong learning on individuals, communities, and employers.

“Signing the Get the Nation Learning Charter is really exciting! We see every day how learning changes lives – from giving people confidence to helping them into new careers. The charter is about making sure those opportunities are open to everyone, and we’re looking forward to working with our members and partners in Greater Manchester to bring that to life. With Get the Nation Learning Week coming up in November, it’s a great chance to shine a spotlight on the brilliant learners and providers we have in our city region.”
