Greater Manchester Learning Provider Network (GMLPN) is seeking an experienced Strategic Partnerships & Policy Consultant to support the organisation during a period of maternity cover from October 2026.
As GMLPN continues to champion collaboration across Greater Manchester’s post-16 education, skills and employment sector, this consultancy opportunity offers a unique chance to help shape the future direction of one of the UK’s most established provider networks.
Working alongside the Chair, Board and Interim Head of Operations, the successful consultant will play a key role in strengthening GMLPN’s strategic influence at both regional and national levels. The role goes beyond providing advice and will involve actively driving and implementing strategic priorities, representing the Network at key forums, developing stakeholder relationships, leading policy engagement activities and identifying opportunities for growth, collaboration and funding.
The consultant will support GMLPN to:
- Strengthen its position as the collective voice of the post-16 education, skills and employment sector across Greater Manchester.
- Influence local and national policy developments affecting members and the wider skills system.
- Build and strengthen strategic relationships across government, employers, local authorities, and sector partners.
- Identify and develop new partnership, funding and business development opportunities.
- Provide strategic intelligence, thought leadership and insight to the Board and membership.
- Support the delivery of GMLPN’s strategic priorities and future growth ambitions.
This opportunity is offered on a self-employed consultancy basis for approximately one day per week, with flexibility to respond to organisational priorities and emerging opportunities.
