An ambitious Digital Marketing Manager who is in the running to become Sir Lord Alan Sugar’s next big investment partner returned to Bury College to re-visit the place where his career first began.
Entrepreneurial-focused Lewis Ellis is currently appearing in series 15 of the hit BBC show The Apprentice. The 29 year old completed his Business Foundation Degree at Bury College University Centre in 2013 before progressing onto the University of Chester to undertake a Business Management Degree and a Master’s Degree in Marketing.
Lewis was delighted to return to Bury College to visit determined Business Studies students and share his journey.
The former Haslingden High School pupil said, “My advice to any young person would be to take every opportunity available to them and don’t be afraid of taking risks. There is no right or wrong way to achieve success and you need to follow your passion. During my time at Bury College University Centre I developed a range of skills including how to work in a professional environment, utilising different research methods, academic writing and range of other transferable skills which prepared me for further study.”
Lewis applied for the 2019 edition of The Apprentice in November 2018 and was invited for an interview along with 70,000 other hopefuls from across the nation. From there, Lewis undertook a gruelling interview process before he was chosen to be one of 16 candidates.
Lewis is currently working for leading Manchester-based marketing agency ‘One Agency’ as well as working towards launching his prestigious travel company ‘Hiddn Travel’ which promises to offer clients the ultimate bespoke package for luxurious travel.
Ian Clowes, Head of Curriculum for Business and Management, said, “We are very proud of everything that Lewis has achieved and our students really appreciated him returning to Bury College to share his experiences with them.”
